Weymouth Museum is located in the old Groves Brewery building in Hope Square, just a minute’s walk from the historic harbour side. The building, which is in the north German renaissance style, has more recently been named Brewers Quay and has become a well-loved local landmark.
The museum is a local history museum for Weymouth and the surrounding area, run entirely by volunteers. It has a sizeable collection of artefacts and ephemera relating to this area. The collection is particularly strong in art (especially local topographical), local trades and industry, maritime items and local history ephemera (including postcards, photographs and guide books).
Museum volunteers are willing to help with local history and family history enquiries.

When Brewers Quay, the home of Weymouth Museum, was sold by Punch Pub Co to developers, Punch donated most of the contents of the Timewalk visitor attraction to Weymouth Museum. Amongst these was an Ice Cream Tricycle. The provenance of this is uncertain so it has not been accessioned but is instead used to attract visitors to the museum. One of the museum's volunteers, experienced in vehicle restoration, has beautifully restored it sine this photograph, of it being loaded on a trailer en-route to his workshop, was taken
