A scale model of Blandford Railway Station has been constructed to show how the railway impacted on the local economy. Most goods and agricultural supplies were transported by railway in the first half of the 20th century, and the loss of this facility in 1966 had a large and detrimental effect on Blandford and surrounding towns and villages. The model is an accurate depiction of all facets of the railway and is used to demonstrate to visiting school groups what life was like in Blandford in the past.
